Siobhan (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in Los Angeles.
Hebron graduated from UCLA in 2012 with B.A.s in both Art and Art History. She studied under Lari Pittman, Mario Ybarra Jr., James Welling, Hirsch Perlman and Anna Sew Hoy. She also studied art history, theory and criticism under George Baker, Jan Tumlir, Mary Kelly and Steven Nelson, among others.
She has worked as a studio assistant for Karl Haendel since 2011, assisting him with drawings exhibited nationally and internationally in both solo and group shows.
At age twenty-four Hebron was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor and she experienced a sea change as an artist and person becoming passionate about the patient experience. As a cancer survivor and patient advocate, she has performed at personal as well as public art events and been the featured artist for UCLA’s Heart of the Brain gala as well as a contributing artist for their Spirit of Judi gala. She had exhibitions at the Hoyt Gallery at the USC Keck School of Medicine as part of the H.E.A.L. program’s mission to foster enhanced understanding between patients and future health care professionals, and at the Jennifer Diamond Cancer Resource Library at the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center as part of their Survivor Art Series.
Hebron has a certificate in Patient Advocacy and in addition to having given artist talks, she has also spoken to medical students about the patient perspective and how art can inform their practice. Her writing explores the same topics and has been featured in We Choose Art, Art and Cake, East Jasmine Review, IHadCancer, The Mighty, Blanket Sea Magazine, Teen Belle Magazine, Elephants and Tea, and ShoutoutLA.
Siobhan is an information nerd and enjoys reading, cooking and baking, and spending time with her dog and any other animals she can find.
